Fritwell is a pretty village dating back to before the Norman Conquest. For a village of less than 500 inhabitants it is fortunate to have a post office and shop plus an award-winning butchers, a Village Hall for community and private events, two churches and a playing field with play and multi-sports areas for children. There is even a great C of E first school. This is an unusual level of amenities for a village of this size. Its access is also excellent with the M40 nearby and Bicester rail station to London less than 6 miles. This combined with its situation amid some of the prettiest countryside makes it a great place to live.
Town Well End is a small collection of houses built around the turn of the century. Unlike many modern developments that can appear soulless or "samey", here no two houses are quite the same, giving it the more natural feeling of a typical village lane. Number 10 sits in an enviable position on a corner plot with nothing opposite it in the road, and apart from one house several hundred metres away all that you can see is trees and fields. Hence the natural light is absolutely wonderful, the feeling of space is significant, and overall it has an awful lot to offer. Our clients have continuously redecorated and improved it hence today it really is in fine condition throughout.
The main door enters a pretty hallway with an oak floor. Elegant stairs rise to the left with that lovely mix of white painted spindles and a timber balustrade. Light is excellent due to he window next to the door, and there are two cupboards providing excellent storage. On the left the cloak room is as it should be - neutral, tasteful and immaculate. To the right the dining room continues with the same oak floor, and the space is ample for a table and eight chairs. Beyond, the living room is a delightful space. As it's double aspect the natural light is exceptional even on dull days, and this enhances the feeling of space in what is already a spacious room. To the rear of the hall, the kitchen is exceptionally practical as well as inviting. Units to two sides provide all the storage needed, and they include a Miele oven. Around to the right the breakfast area sits next to double doors which open onto the garden. Adjacent there is also a utility room providing space for washing machine and tumble drier along with a secondary sink. From here a door leads into the garage, which is a very generous size and could potentially provide further accommodation if desired (subject to consents). Overhead the pitched roof could provide ample storage. There are two doors to the front, one of which is electric, and a part glazed pedestrian door to the rear accesses the garden.
On the first floor three bedrooms and a bathroom are all in impeccable condition, and all accessed off an elegant landing. The smaller two are practical bedrooms but our vendors currently use one (with its large wardrobe) as a dressing room and the other as a study. Serving these and the two bedrooms above is a bathroom, white throughout with a just a touch of contrast from a line of blue patterned tiles, and there is also a glass shower screen. On the top floor both bedrooms are ample doubles with windows providing wonderful access to that view. They are also very practical, the dimensions allowing for a generous suite of furniture in each. Even here the attention to detail is obvious, the compact landing adding light to the stairwell via a Velux window.
Outside, the front is split into two. A block-paved driveway to the right is wide as well as deep, more than ample for several vehicles, and it is separated from the road outside by a stone wall. The pretty front garden contains various shrubs and border plants alongside a pleasant area of lawn. To the right the gate closes off a path, ideal for hiding bins, bikes etc, that leads to the garden. Paving runs round to the rear of the house, flanked by a low planter wall, and deepens out to become a wide terrace stretching behind both sets of double doors from the kitchen and living room. Shallow stepped paving provides several seating areas and to the rear of the lawn on the left is another sun trap too. Lawn on the right is separated from a generous store area beyond which hides the oil tank, and here might be an ideal space for a shed or even home office.
