The Vendor's View - We first came across this happy, characterful property about 15 years ago. It was really a case of the right place at the right time, being in our price range and offering plenty of space and a lovely garden.
It is a really cosy house with well-proportioned rooms and big open fireplaces. Some of the beams in the house are reclaimed from shipwrecks and the house has a very interesting history, being about 250 years old.
The whole property has a spacious feel, which is something that we have particularly enjoyed. The back garden is really large and has a lovely layout. Its a nice place to sit out and enjoy when the weather is nice, all year round.
We renovated in the last year or so, with all new carpets, wooden flooring, ceilings etc. So even though it is an older, characterful house, it still benefits from modern comforts.
The setting of the house is really nice, located within walking distance (or a 3-minute cycle) from the centre of town. Whitstable is home to a wide array of independent shops, offering everything you could possibly need. The train station is just a 2-minute drive away, which benefits from the high speed rail link and its a really accessible location from wherever you are arriving from.
We will miss the space that the property offers and the character of the house. It has a very homely feeling and we have many happy memories of our time here.
