Yew Tree Manor is an enchanting period farmhouse thought to have been built in the 1680's and once part of the Duke of Sutherland's Estate. There is very little written evidence about the house prior to 1900s and Newport History Society have conducted research in the hope of uncovering further information. Research produced various artefacts but little definitive written history.
Yew Tree Manor retains a wealth of original and later period features, such as the exposed timber frame which is visible through the central portion of the house, wide oak floor boards noted particularly on the staircase and first floor landing. From the North follow the A41 beyond Newport turning right at the roundabout onto the A518 signed to Telford. Continue to the next roundabout taking the first exit signed Chetwynd AstonLilleshall National Sports & Conferencing Centre. Continue for approximately 0.9 miles where you will find Yew Tree Manor on the left hand side, opposite The Fox car park through two brick pillars.
