Hillside Farm stands peacefully within its own grounds, enjoying breathtaking southerly views over the Teme Valley. The glorious Shelsley countryside is acclaimed for its tranquillity and exceptional natural beauty.
There are many public footpaths and bridleways providing first class opportunities for walking, riding and all country leisure pursuits. Close by is the esteemed Abberley Hall Preparatory School with further fine schooling in Great Witley and Martley. These local Villages combine to offer excellent day-to-day facilities to include Public Houses, Post Office, General Stores, Sports Centres, Garages and Parish Churches. More extensive facilities for shopping, leisure and education are found within Tenbury Wells, Ludlow, the City of Worcester and throughout the Teme Valley and West Midlands area.
Hillside Farm was a working farm up until the late 1960s. Pevsner, in The Buildings of England describes: "Originally a C15-C16 timber framed hall house with solar cross-wing, the latter mostly rebuilt to a large T-plan with shaped gable end for John Collins, 1678." The rebuild was in brick to include two parapet gables to the front and rear and a decorative Flemish style gable to the end elevation. A further extension was added circa 1780.
The residence is Grade II listed. Over time the Farm has been used as a monastery, hotel and during the bombing of Birmingham in World War II, a workers' refuge. The Collins family were important Tanners of the day, and friends of the Foleys (builders of Witley Court) all of whom prospered in the industrial revolution and who journeyed out into the countryside for a better way of life.
Hillside Farm is a comfortable, superbly presented, family home of exceptional character. Many of the rooms offer
exposed wall and ceiling timbers, flagstone floors, ancient latch doors and fine fireplaces. An intriguing Tudor panelled staircase rises up to the principal Bedroom Suite and a quartet of second floor rooms.
The four principal Reception rooms, including a Drawing room and Sitting room, combine to offer good versatility for family life throughout the seasons. They each capture the southerly valley views. Excellent engagement of the interiors with the Gardens and Grounds is provided by French doors within both the beautiful flagstone floored Dining room and the charming farmhouse Kitchen. The latter is a timeless space with timber fronted units set below sculpted granite worktops.
The first floor has two wings; the principal staircase rises and gives access to four, first class double Bedrooms, one with En-Suite and a Family Bathroom. A second, Tudor staircase offers the Master Bedroom with Dressing Room, Bedroom and luxurious En-Suite. On the second floor is an enchanting quartet of attic rooms, providing Bathroom and Bedrooms, ideal for guests or as a children's suite. All the rooms have stunning outlooks over cthe Valley.

The main Gardens and Sun Terrace lie to the rear of the home, landscaped to enjoy the full expanse of the Teme Valley views. The Gardens are generally laid to grass dressed with ornamental trees.
