Our Time Here - We spent 6 months renovating this property and spent a considerable amount of money on it. Along with installing a new kitchen and bathroom, we damp-proofed, levelled and tiled the floor in the cellar so there is plenty of storage space. We made the top floor into own suite with a bedroom and bathroom, so our guests can use the bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor.
The enviable location is one of the chief selling points, being equidistant from the beach and the train station; both just a few hundred metres away. The station offers a service into London Victoria or the high speed train to St Pancras, which my wife uses twice a week. It's really great for kids here with the beaches nearby and there are a number of parks, one of which is behind the property where we walk our dog.
As well as the house being over 200m2, it is also very large in terms of cubic metres, having very high ceilings and we've found that this gives a real airy and spacious feel. There aren't many places in the centre of Broadstairs that have so much space and we have found it really useful. The garden is a great size for entertaining, we've had around 40 people here for our May Bank Holiday barbecue!
Having come from London ourselves, one of our favourite things about this property is the location, which has enabled us to host our friends who still live in the capital. Thanks to the close proximity to everything, they don't even need a car when they visit, though the property also benefits from off road parking for two cars. You can easily walk to any of the good restaurants, bars and shops, and there are many wonderful blue flag sandy beaches within walking distance.
Due to ill health in the family, we are sadly in a position where we have to sell this wonderful property. We hope that the new owners love it as much as we have.
