Full description

Found in a central location in the popular bustling seaside town of Whitstable is this impressive five-bedroom period home. The accommodation is arranged over three floors and provides spacious and well-proportioned living accommodation. There are two reception rooms plus a good sized kitchen/breakfast room and a useful utility/garden room. There are many attractive and appealing features including ornate fireplaces, stripped floors and retro radiators. There is also a small balcony to the front.
Externally the good sized rear garden is laid mainly to lawn with plant borders and a paved patio.
The town centre is a stroll away with its variety of shops, bars and restaurants, as well as the popular beaches and working harbor. Whitstable railway station is also within easy access providing a regular service to London.

The popular seaside town of Whitstable is situated on the stunning North Kent coast, 7 miles north of the historical city of Canterbury and less than 60 miles from central London. With its quaint alley ways, colourful high street and peaceful shingle beaches this town has a lot to offer both residents and holiday makers.

This town is famous for its working harbour and oysters, which have been collected in the area since Roman times and celebrated at the annual July Whitstable Oyster Festival.
For entertainment there are excellent water sport facilities, plenty of art galleries, and a wealth of independently run restaurants, boutiques and cafes to enjoy along the vibrant high street.

The Crab and Winkle Way, one of the earliest passenger railways and the first ever steam-powered railway in the world, follows the disused railway line between Canterbury and Whitstable, and is now a popular walking and cycle route through woods and countryside.
Road links via the A299 Thanet Way give easy access to the M2 for travel to London and beyond. Whitstable also has a main line train station providing fast and frequent links into London Victoria (1hr 30 mins) and London St Pancras (1hr 11mins).

The Vendor's View - We decided to leave London for Whitstable, which offered the type of lifestyle we wanted. This was the second house we viewed, and we immediately fell in love with it. We placed an offer on it the same day and moved in 5 months later. Although it's a large house, it has a comfortable and warm atmosphere. Everyone always comments that it feels like a real family home.
We love the original features particularly the period fireplaces and unusual curved wall in the living room, as well as the ornate archway feature in the hall. We have fantastic neighbours and know most of the owners of the local shops.
The schools here are excellent. Our daughter has gone from Year 1 through to Grammar School in Canterbury, and our son has just moved from Nursery to Reception this year. The Primary School is just 2 minutes walk away. The children have made many friends and enjoy the freedom that Whitstable offers them.
Were relocating now that circumstances dictate, but this has been a dream home for us and we will be sad to leave. This has been a wonderful family home and we will miss it greatly, especially the close proximity to the shops and the beach, as well as the fantastic community spirit.
