When we viewed this property in 1991 for a friend we were not looking to buy a property, we already had a holiday home in Seaview but we decided to have a look, we drove by and were not that impressed but once we were in the door we were hooked our children described as entering the ‘tardis’- the spaciousness, the views and, as we were to learn over the years, the flexibility of use. So we went for broke and bought it, ultimately downsizing in London and moving the main home to the Island.

It can be all things, a post wedding venue with accommodation for adults and the young, host a 100 for drinks, or a snug family home for entertaining one’s friends. Its design has stood the test of time, yes we have made some minor alterations like changing a bathroom around to incorporate a shower and laid out an easy care the garden but nothing structural.

So why are we reluctantly selling? Age has caught up with us, our children have all got married and have families of their own who have not been able to enjoy living by the sea in the way our children did coming for weekends throughout the year. So regrettably we have decided that it is time to pass it on to someone else who can enjoy the house and the fun and flexibility it offers, as we have. They will never tire of the ever-changing view and even perhaps enjoy the model railway layout in the basement.
