is believed to be built on the foundations of a tenth/eleventh century Saxon Priory, it has certainly been suggested that two of Medwyn’s internal walls are possibly of Saxon origin but the main body of the house dates to no later than the fourteenth century.

There are several priest holes which were constructed in the years immediately following the reformation.
