The Vendor's View - I bought the property about 16 years ago and was first attracted to the very convenient, city centre location next to the river. It's a very historic old property, with fantastic views over the Cathedral, which is especially lovely all lit up at night time from my bedroom window.

The house itself has a lovely welcoming feel, and people always comment on what a homely atmosphere it has. My favourite room is probably my study, where I can enjoy reading, and I replaced the kitchen during my time here, which is a beautiful room with granite worktops. I loved the idea of living next to the river; it's lovely to see the ducks, moorhens and occasionally the swans. When I first moved here I bought a little rowing boat and it was great fun to go up and down the river with the grandchildren. The garden is also very pretty and a very enjoyable place to spend time in the summer months.

The location is ideal for shopping and eating out, and of course being so close to the Marlowe Theatre. Over the years my friends and I have enjoyed the fact that we can come back to the house for interval drinks! As you would expect the transport links are fantastic, you can get the bus or train to all the surrounding towns, and easily visit the coast or the countryside, while the high speed link from Canterbury West station gets you into London St. Pancras in under an hour.

I have loved my time at this wonderful property, and I will miss the building itself as well as the convenience of the location, but I feel that now is the right time for me to downsize.
