Glendelm is situated within the delightful ribbon settlement of Resipole on the charming and scenically beautiful Ardnamurchan Peninsula.

Resipole is about 2 miles due east of Salen, 5 miles from Acharacle and about 7 miles due west of Strontian.

The house is in a beautiful west highland coastal setting with southern aspects out across Loch Sunart to the mountains and glens beyond.

Strontian is the main village in the district of Ardgour and Morvern in Sunart, Lochaber in the west highland region of Scotland. Strontian is situated on an inlet at the head of the sea-loch, Loch Sunart and is dominated by the Beinn Resipol Mountain, standing 845m high. The village was established to accommodate the lead mine workers in 1724. The lead mined here was used as a source for bullets during the Napoleonic Wars. A new element was discovered here in 1764 named Strontium after its place of origin; Strontium salts are used to make fireworks burn red.

Strontian lies close to the ferry service operating crossings to the Isle of Mull. The village has shops, a petrol station, a Tourist Information Centre, a Camping and Caravan Park, hotels and restaurants. Strontian is a popular tourist resort ideal for walking, cycling, nature-watching, fishing and touring. The peninsula leads to the most westerly point in mainland Britain, passing through Glenborrodale where there is a RSPB reserve and a new distillery. About 7 miles to the north is the Ariundle Oakwood Nature Reserve with ancient mossy Oakwoods; a remnant of the Atlantic oak forest which once covered most of the west coast. Wildlife abounds in the area, with otters, seals, porpoises, eagles and other sea birds spotted most days from Glendelm.

Strontian has a good local primary school and is home to the main secondary school of the peninsula, Ardnamurchan High School.

Doctors are situated in Acharacle and Strontian and provide 24 hour cover.

Surrounding countryside is some of the most scenically dramatic on the west coast of Scotland. There is near endless interesting walking/country and for the more adventurous, challenging hill climbs and mountaineering. Skiing is available at Glencoe and Nevis Range. For the field sportsman/woman there are opportunities to fish by permit for trout and salmon on the local rivers and lochs and some of the local estates run commercial shoots as well as allowing stalking by prior arrangement. There are numerous nearby slipways and jetties.

Travel Directions
From Crianlarich proceed in a northerly direction on the A82 to and through Glencoe and Ballachulish. Proceed over the Ballachulish Bridge and travel for a further 4 miles on the A82 to reach the Corran Ferry. Take the Ferry crossing to the Ardnamurchan peninsula and proceed in a westerly direction on the A861 traveling for 21 miles to reach the ribbon settlement of Resipole. Proceed beyond the bridge over Resipole burn for about 0.5 miles to find Glendelm on the right hand side.

It is possible to drive to the property without using the Corran ferry. This is via Fort William and Lochailort, and whilst scenic will add around an hour and a half to the journey."
