Description

DESCRIPTION

Forming part of an attractive traditional red sandstone steading, The Barn was renovated to the highest specification in 2009. Traditional features have been thoughtfully combined with modern fixtures and fittings throughout.

The main door opens into a welcoming entrance hall which provides access to an impressive wet room with shower and WC, and a boiler room which houses the underfloor heating manifold which runs throughout the ground floor. Internal glass doors lead to the living room which features a wood burning stove set in a double sided stone chimney. A pair of French doors opens onto the patio outside, while a pair of internal doors lead through to a double height sun room, where the wood burning stove is cleverly also accessible. From the sun room, patio doors lead out onto a decked terrace.

A large kitchen with dining area is located off the entrance hall, and contains contemporary fitted base and wall units with integrated Kitchen Aid wine cooler and dishwasher. A cream Rangemaster with gas hobs provides a focal point for the kitchen. Two arches lead through to the generously sized sitting room with exposed beams in the vaulted ceiling. French doors open up onto the patio outside, with the utility room with WC also having direct access outside through a side door. A bedroom with integrated wardrobe space is also located on the ground floor.

The oak spindle staircase in the entrance hall leads up to the first floor landing with eaves storage and linen cupboard. The master suite features two Velux windows, integrated wardrobe space and an en suite shower room with WC. Two further bedrooms are located on the first floor, located either side of a family bathroom which features a freestanding bath positioned in front of an integrated wall mounted TV.

Outside

A low lying stone wall with wooden gate provides access to The Barn, opening onto a gravelled area for parking and through to the double garage. A garden shed is located behind the garage, with the stone wall providing a boundary for the garden. A tree house sits amongst the trees making the most of the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and Tinto Hill.

A paved patio surrounds the front of the property, with flower beds bordering the lawn. There is a decked terrace next to the sun room, with a drying green and log store around the corner.
Bordering the road, a gravelled area surrounds the side of the property and stone steps lead up to the back door.
