A FEW WORDS FROM THE PRESENT OWNERS

"We have loved living on Woodville Drive for the last thirteen years, and will be heartbroken to leave this wonderful 102-year-old house. We bought the property as a young couple - we were the first people to see it when it came on the market in spring 2003, and fell immediately in love with it. The location is perfect because at the front it's a lovely, quiet leafy cul-de-sac, and at the back it's not at all overlooked; it's a very peaceful and private place, despite the hustle and bustle of the high street a stone's throw away.

We have sought to restore much of the original period character of this property, to which end we have spent much of the last decade slowly bringing it sensitively back to life: putting fireplaces back in, restoring the woodwork, revealing the then hidden tiled floor in the hall, and maintaining the original windows (many still with their beautiful Edwardian-era glass). Yet the house also needed to meet our needs as a modern, sometimes home-working couple, so we created a warm, airy and flexible open-plan workspace upstairs.

Living a minute or two's walk from the shops, cafes and restaurants of Mansfield Road and Haydn Road has been a huge advantage; moving up from London, it's why we chose to live in this part of Sherwood in the first place. And it's been amazing to watch and enjoy the renaissance of this vibrant neighbourhood in the time that we have lived here. And now with a two-year-old in tow, we've learned that Sherwood is fantastic for families too. We're sure that whoever comes to live at 4 Woodville Drive after us will cherish their time here as much as we have."
