The small sandy cove of Maenporth lies approximately two miles south of the colourful and cosmopolitan harbour town of Falmouth, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and not far from the mouth of the wonderful Helford River immortalised by Daphne Du Maurier in her novel Frenchman's Creek.

There are excellent yachting facilities close at hand including deep-water moorings at Helford, yacht marinas in Falmouth and at the historic Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.
