The Story

Inviting visitors into their stylish kitchen dining area, the new owners of the house on Blackmoor Close will enjoy sharing their beautiful new home with friends. The three bedroom house has been transformed into a bright and welcoming home, with ample space for family living and a contemporary interior, which is ideal for entertaining.
Heather Smith, project manager of developers HS Home Design, brought her expert eye to the property, recognising its great potential as soon as she saw it.
“It was a nice family house that had the scope to become a fantastic home for someone,” she explains. “It had good space for a family and was in a great location, within the catchment area for Charters School and Ascot Heath Junior School, which is within walking distance. You can also walk to the train station and the local shops from here.”

MODERN LIVING
The three bedroom, semi detached property, which also has the benefit of a garage, had been empty for almost three years. Every room was taken right back, refurbished and given a beautiful new finish.
“I also added a conservatory to the back of the house, which has made a considerable difference,” she says. “This allowed me to create a generous kitchen breakfast room, where new owners will be able to have a table and chairs or comfortable seating. It has brought the house right up to date with the way people in 2016 like to live their daily lives.”

SENSE OF FLOW
This room now has a light, stylish finish, with white units and work surfaces, as well as a useful central island. There is plenty of space for food preparation and storage, and the new owners will be able to talk to their guests as they prepare a meal or engage with their children while they are doing homework at the table.
“There is a laminate floor all the way through the ground floor, which enhances the bright, contemporary feel and adds to the sense of flow this new arrangement has created,” Heather adds.

OUTSIDE DINING
In the summer, the owners will be able to throw open the doors to the sunny conservatory to bring their indoor and outdoor spaces together. They will be able to enjoy their breakfast out in the fresh air and sit outside for an evening drink or even a barbecue perhaps.
“It is a low maintenance garden, which is ideal for people with busy lives,” she says. “It is a sunny area, with plenty of room for a table and chairs or other garden furniture.”

OPEN-PLAN FEEL
The spacious drawing and dining room offers another very social space. Again there is room in here for dining furniture, as well as comfortable seating, depending on how new owners wish to make the most of the fabulous space. There is even space under the stairs for the creation of a small work area.
“I love the open plan feel to the ground floor of the house,” she admits. “I put oak and glass doors between the kitchen breakfast room and the drawing and dining room, giving people the option to open them up to create one large area for socialising or to close them off to allow family members the privacy to pursue their own individual interests.”

QUIET LIFE
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room and there is also a family bathroom.
“Two of the bedrooms are double in size and one is a single. I have made sure there is space for armoires or modern wardrobes, as well as chests of drawers and bedside tables,” Heather says. “I do like the fact the master bedroom has built-in double wardrobes and Sky television. Having the en suite shower room in here is also marvellous. Both this room and the family bathroom have been fully tiled on the floor and walls: I chose the most beautiful Italian tiles, which look wonderful.”
From upstairs, there are views out over the established neighbourhood. The quiet cul de sac is a peaceful place, where children play out, and yet its position also means it is well situated for good access to the M3 and M4, as well as golf clubs, health spas and picturesque places to walk.
“This house could suit a family, a young couple or new owners who are keen to downsize,” she suggests. “It is a modern home, which is completely ready to move into. Every detail has been considered, from the LED lights going up the glass balustraded stairs to the wooden blinds and rest of the lighting throughout the house. Everything is there to be enjoyed, all the new owners have to do is to bring in their furniture.”

Setting The Scene

The house on Blackmoor Close is situated in a quiet cul de sac and set back from the road, with parking for up to four cars. There is also a garage with power.
To the front, there is a small, newly laid lawn, with gravel borders leading to the front door.
At the back, the conservatory opens on to another low maintenance area. Here there is another new lawn and a terrace area for outside dining and relaxation.
