The Story

Meadow View has a picturesque outlook which looks out towards the paddock and rural landscape beyond. "Discovering this house for sale was like unearthing a miracle find. My daughter was very keen on horses and we wanted a bungalow with stables and a paddock, which was also close to Nottingham city centre.
"As we found out, those properties are incredibly rare and we just couldn't find everything we needed. Then an old friend told me he was selling the bungalow he built himself. We knew instantly it was perfect."

EASY FLOW
The bungalow was built in 1969 and is set in 1.5 acres of gardens and paddock.
"Although the property itself needed modernising, the setting was idyllic and inside it just had so much space. It is a very pretty, cream-rendered bungalow, with beautiful, big bay windows throughout. When we walked in we were immediately struck by how airy and sunny it was. We also loved the easy flow of the home, the way the different spaces can be used in so many ways."

ENDLESS POTENTIAL
During the 24 years the owners have lived at Meadow View, they have transformed it inside and out. "We have really put our stamp on it. We have replaced the majority of windows including the bow windows with hardwood aluminium double glazed frames and have created a simple cream colour scheme throughout, which highlights features such as the oak beams, and emphasises the sense of light and space in every room. "For us it is the perfect home and I don't think we will ever find another place as special as this. "But it also has great potential to be extended and to change the outbuildings, which we think is very exciting."

SENSE OF SPACE
Once inside Meadow View, visitors find it to be incredibly spacious and fantastic for family living. "We spend most of our time in the drawing room at the front of the property, which has beautiful views across the gardens and paddock, where there are sheep at the moment. It is south-facing, so the sun pours in all day long through the bay window and we love sitting in here, enjoying the scenery. The drawing room also has a traditional brick fireplace and when the fire is going on a chilly evening, it feels so cosy and inviting."
The - shaped drawing room also features a formal dining area, which the couple use when entertaining friends or family.

FLEXIBLE LIVING
French windows lead from the drawing room into a further expansive living room highlighting the flexibility and space available in the home. "With the French windows open, it creates a huge area, connecting the two spaces, which is perfect for special occasions. But equally, with the doors closed, it is nice to have two very distinct rooms. The second living area is enormous and overlooks the pretty back garden. Again it has a large bay window where you can sit and enjoy the comings and goings of the plentiful wildlife, making it a lovely place to spend time." The room opens into the breakfast room and kitchen creating a large, sociable area, which is perfect for entertaining or for bustling family life with children.
"The kitchen is very traditional, made from solid oak with granite work surfaces and it is very well-designed - it is perfect if you love cooking."

BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT
The property has three generous bedrooms and two bathrooms. "Our master bedroom is a wonderful place to wake up every morning. It has two beautiful bay windows overlooking our land and the fields and trees in the distance. It is always filled with sunshine and has such a warm feeling." Outside, the extensive grounds include excellent equestrian facilities, outbuildings and a double garage as well as beautiful landscaped lawns and gardens.

Setting The Scene

The setting of Meadow View in the hamlet of Holme Pierrepont is one of the things which makes it so special. Nestled in 1.5 acres comprising of landscaped gardens and a paddock, the bungalow is incredibly private and surrounded by pretty countryside and wildlife.
It is the perfect home for horse owners, with four stables and a tack room, as well as two further outbuildings. The grounds, which are accessible via imposing wrought iron gates, feature beautiful lawns, flowed beds, shrubs and trees.
“The garden is very well stocked and looks absolutely amazing in the spring and summer, it is full of greenery and colour and a lovely place to spend time,” says the owner.
