The northern part of the island is sparsely populated, and the ferry terminal at Rhubodach connects the island to the mainland at Colintraive by the smaller of the island's two ferries. This family-owned guesthouse overlooking Rothesay Bay is only a few minutes drive from the main ferry terminal, the ruins of the 13th-century Rothesay Castle and Bute Museum.
