Full description

The Scottish Property Centre is delighted to offer this charming 2 bedroom cottage to the market, the property is in walk-in condition in an elevated position overlooking Loch Long in Argyll. Blairbeg sits in over half an acre of garden and uncultivated land which would be ideal for the keen gardener.

A beautifully finished property that combines the old with the new with an attractive stone exterior, insulated walls and modern fixtures and fittings interior for a comfortable life style. The property is located off the shores of the Loch Long looking down The Clyde Estuary and has pedestrian access to the door only with a lane extending up the hill from the shores to a set of stone stairs that lead through an archway and into the lower section of garden. At the top of the stairs is this traditionally built Scottish Cottage consisting of sitting room with windows to the front and side and a good sized wood-burner, the well equipped kitchen is to the rear with access leading out to the back area of the property, the family bathroom is off to the side, the bedrooms are one to the front and the other to the rear of the property. Decor through-out is neutral and the flooring is mainly laminate with tiles in the kitchen and bathroom and carpet in the bedrooms. The woodwork is natural stained wood with glazed doors to some of the rooms to allow extra light to this already bright property. The windows are double glazed and the heating a wood burner and wall mounted heaters.

The gardens are large and extend to over .6 of an acre with the main area around the property being laid to grass with a drying area at the bottom of the garden, a patio area to the front of the property which makes the best of the outstanding views to the water. A hedge separates the 2 parts of the garden and can be accessed via a wrought iron gate, this area could be used for growing vegetables, plants etc, may even suit those looking at self-sufficiency.

The much sought after village of Blairmore is approximately 10 miles from Dunoon on the shores of Loch Long and within the National Park, has an art gallery/coffee shop, a newly restored pier, which is a stopping-off point for the famous Paddle Steamer The Waverly during the summer months, a regular bus service to Dunoon which is located approximately 10 miles away and nearby primary school at Strone. There are good sailing facilities in the area with the Holy Loch Sailing Club and Marina situated at Sandbank. The area is ideally situated for hill-walking.

Dunoon itself is a small town set in the beautiful Cowal Peninsular of Argyll and yet within just over an hour's commuting distance to the centre of Glasgow. Glasgow Airport is only an hour away. Argyll Ferries run a half hourly service to Gourock connecting with trains to Glasgow Central, and Western Ferries run a more frequent service from nearby Hunters Quay to McInroys Point. McGill's run a bus service from Dunoon to Buchanan Street bus station Glasgow. The town has a modern leisure centre, two supermarkets, a variety of individual shops, restaurants and a cinema.
