This four-bedroom family home is therefore perfectly situated to take full advantage of the wonderful landscape and amenities of the Gower. There are many lovely off-road walks direct from the house which include the award winning Three Cliffs Bay, Tor Bay, Oxwich Bay and beyond. In the opposite direction there are beautiful cliff walks to Pobbles Bay, Pwll Ddu Bay, Brandy Cove and Caswell Bay. Cefn Bryn and the Gower Way can also be reached via Three Cliffs Bay or through ancient ash and oak woods via Parkmill. The house has been maintained to a high standard, including a newly fitted kitchen in hand painted oak, new kitchen appliances, new engineered oak flooring throughout the ground floor, new patio doors and many replacement windows. The house is in excellent decorative order throughout.

A beautiful private and secluded cottage garden full of variety has been created, with a slated terrace and steps which lead down to the main garden. This includes a lawn, flower and shrub borders and a decked area. Cordons of established apple trees separate the vegetable garden with its raised vegetable beds, pear trees, a fruit cage with a variety of soft fruit and greenhouse. Directions:

The best approach to Sandy Lane from Swansea is to follow the A4067 to Mumbles turning off right onto the B4436 at the traffic lights at Blackpill. Continue along this road through Kittle and past the church on the corner of Vennaway Lane and continue straight on in the direction of Southgate until the primary school is reached on the left. Here, turn right onto Linkside Drive and immediately bear left onto the unmade road across the common with passing places. The entrance to Sandy Lane is reached after approximately 400 metres. Continue along the main track, following signs to the Bird Hospital until Fairview is found on a right hand bend. Park anywhere convenient on the grassed areas.

Supplementary information:

Sandy Lane is within easy walking distance of a wide variety of amenities, including a local convenience store, the well regarded Pennard Stores/post office and coffee shop, the primary school with crèche, community centre and library, doctors' surgery and pharmacy. There is a local pub, the Southgate Inn as well as the golf club house, The Links in the Sky. There is also a produce market once a month. There is a regular bus service into Swansea and about the Gower.

Sandy Lane came into being sometime between the First and Second World Wars when plots of land were rented out by the original owner of the farmland to people from Swansea and the Gower to build holiday chalets. The original number of chalets was considerably greater than nowadays, but approximately 100 dwellings still remain, most of which have now been renovated or re-built.

The unique character and entity of the lane remains. Sandy Lane has three distinct settings based around open field spaces and linked by unmade lanes. A voluntary 10mph speed limit exists which is largely adhered to and this, together with the open space and linking footpaths creates a unique safe and rewarding environment for children and dog walkers in particular and slows the pace of life for everyone who lives there.

There are several routes from the lane onto the adjacent common land and golf course which connect to the network of footpaths leading directly to the beautiful beaches of South Gower. From Sandy Lane it is possible to walk the entire length of the Gower coast without resorting to any roads at all.
