Bridge Cottage is Grade II Listed and understood to date from the 16th Century. The former farmhouse offers an appealing ambience with many exposed timbers and period features, including fine brick fireplaces and stud and plank doors. There are two well-proportioned main reception rooms either side of the fireplaces, together with a study and downstairs bedroom. A compact well-fitted kitchen by a local Hasketon joiner opens into a south facing garden room and there is also a utility room and downstairs bath/shower room. The first floor is approached by two staircases which access the three bedrooms and a second bathroom.
The house sits amidst mature and secluded gardens. To the front is a wide gravel parking and turning area overhung by a fine beech tree and there is a lean-to carport. To the rear is a sheltered suntrap paved terrace, beyond which is a large timbered workshop/garden store, as well as an air-sourced heated, above ground swimming pool, and outside hot tub deck (hot tub optional). There are further areas of lawned garden and mature trees together with views across the neighbouring farmland.
Beyond the garden is an area of enclosed meadow garden laid to lawn and bordered by fencing and mature trees which can be available by separate negotiation.
Bridge Cottage enjoys a rural setting amidst the picturesque countryside on the edge of Hasketon. The popular village has an active community and a newly refurbished pub, whilst the neighbouring village of Grundisburgh, which can be accessed via footpaths, also has a good local pub, together with a village shop, post office and primary school. Ipswich and Woodbridge (7 & 2½ miles respectively) are easily accessed and provide a full range of shopping and commercial facilities and top performing schools in both state and private sectors, catering for all age groups and a wide choice of sports clubs and societies. There are golf courses on the edges of both towns and the nearby Deben and Orwell Estuaries provide a wide choice of water sport opportunities. The A12 is easily accessed as it bypasses Woodbridge and links to Londons M25 and Stansted airport as well as the A14 which in turn links to Cambridge and the Midlands. Rail services run regularly from both Woodbridge and Ipswich to Londons Liverpool Street Station.
