Located within the "Golden Courtyard"comes this Lovely Warehouse Conversion.

The Royal Arsenal was used for the storage and manufacture of ammunition, fuses and gunpowder at the end of the 16th century. In 1716 Sir John Vanburgh marked the start of it's expansion by designing and building the Royal Brass Foundry. However it wasn't until the start of the Napoleonic Wars in 1793 that the depot underwent major transformation into a large modern military factory.

Expansion continued throughout the growth of the empire and culminated in a peak during the First World War. At its height it employed 80,000 workers and covered 1,285 acres, stretching 3 miles along the banks of the Thames!

After the Second World War and the rearmament period of the early 1950s the Royal Arsenal sadly fell into decline. It closed in 1967 and sold in 1994, ending 300 years of continuous use as a strategic defence facility.
