The Property This is a unique opportunity to own the largest apartment in a Grade II* listed castle, a coastal landmark. With some of the county's finest views across Mounts Bay to St Michael's Mount, Mousehole and Newlyn. The central Tower apartment is arranged over three floors and has been comprehensively updated in recent years.

. As you approach the property from the long driveway you will start to feel the size and grandeur of the castle. Private stairs from the rear lead up to the first floor entrance where you will step into the spacious breakfast room. A charming room with limestone flooring, under floor heating and views to the gardens. From here you go through into a stunning kitchen with a fantastic vaulted beamed ceiling, a complete range of stainless steel and integrated Miele appliances fitted into a bespoke range of coordinating units. The kitchen also has limestone flooring, under floor heating and mood lighting. From the kitchen you enter into the splendid hall which has a fantastic barrelled glazed ceiling and slate tiled flooring.

. A staircase leads up through a clever arrangement of book cases to the second floor. The two large principal bedrooms sit to either corner of the Tower and have fabulous sea views from the large Mullion windows. Both bedrooms have spacious contemporary en-suite shower/bath rooms with limestone walls, flooring and under floor heating. The third bedroom has a direct central view looking straight out to sea.

. A further staircase leads to the third floor and the stunning sitting and dining room some 40' in length. This room has panoramic views from all four sides over the gardens and the spectacular coastline. This is a perfect room for either to relax reading, listening to music, taking in the views or a fabulous room to entertain your guests. From this room a door gives you access to an external staircase to the most wonderful large private roof terrace on top of the Tower. From here you have the most spectacular views right around the property that in our opinion can not be beaten.

Exterior The extensive stone walled landscaped gardens to the front of the property are for use of the residents, offering areas of patios or lawns to sit and again take in the views to the sea, as well as a large ornamental pond. To the rear of the property are the three parking spaces and two private cellar stores. From the property you have access to many coastal pathways and walks to enjoy.

History John Stackhouse was born near Truro in 1742. He became a Fellow of Exeter College, Oxford at the age of 19. When 21 he inherited the Pendarves estate near Camborne. He built Acton Castle at Cudden Point during 1775, specifically to research the seaweeds there. The architect he employed also designed Tregenna Castle in St. Ives, now a hotel. The house was given his wife's family name of Acton, and was built so that she could accompany him whilst he was doing his research.

Location The property sits prominently above the spectacular Stackhouse Cove, with footpaths that lead along the coast to other coves and beaches such as Perranuthnoe to the west and Praa Sands to the east. The small village of Rosudgeon with convenience store and award winning Falmouth Packet Inn is within walking distance. A short drive away is Marazion and Porthlevern which have a popular selection of pubs and restaurants. From the property a short drive on the A394 can take you to either Helston or Penzance, both having a large variety of shops, supermarkets and amenities.

Please Note The adjoining North Wing can also be purchased together with the Tower if required. The price can be negotiated together. Contact us for further information.

Services The property has mains water, electricity, private drainage. There is a service charge, further details upon request. The remaining lease is 91 years with a share of the freehold. Council Tax Band G. Shared freehold rather than pure leasehold. 4800 per year which includes insurance, maintinance and gardens
