Over the centuries much has also changed on the side elevation, however the Gothic doorway still proudly displays the arms of the Chetham family. It appears that at the end of the 18th century The School House had fallen into disrepair and a longstanding master at the school paid for the building to be restored and at this time the school room was extended. In 1903 the schoolmasters house was vested in the Official Trustee of Charity Lands, however just seven years later an order was made by the board of education that the buildings associated with the foundation known as Chapeltown Old School were to be sold for £250. The money raised was to be invested in a trust fund which would fund the prizes for the school children. In 1911 the Schoolroom and master's house were sold and became a private residential dwelling. The property became Grade ll listed in 1967 therefore protected for future generations to treasure and will grace the high street of Chapeltown for many years to come.

The perfectly balanced facade is a superb example of early Georgian architecture, built of local sandstone and steeped in history this superb family home has been renovated and beautifully maintained by the current vendors.
