56 Fort Road is a special house in a friendly street with lovely neighbours, many of whom have become friends. It has been our family home now for 10 years and we have loved every minute of being here. With a park at one end of the street and a swimming pool at the other it has been great for our children. The house is the largest one on the street and benefits from a side access which is fantastic for bikes/buggy access. The courtyard area is perfect for alfresco dining, enjoying a southerly aspect. The train station is in easy walking distance by the river and has enabled an easy commute to London Victoria in less than 90 minutes. The towns of Lewes (10 mins) and Brighton and local Universities are easily accessible by train and bus. Brighton is also only a 20 minute drive on the stunning coast road. Gatwick airport is also less than hour away by road and train. The local primary school has recently received an excellent rating by Ofstead for early years and the lovely village school of Iford and Kingston is also within catchment, this also has an excellent rating. Cyclists and walkers will enjoy easy access to the river paths to Lewes and rides through the nature reserve to Seaford. The surrounding areas of countryside including Cuckmere haven speak for themselves.
