We were blown away by the sheer scale of the house and the history associated with it. Friends have joked that their entire house could fit into our massive front room with huge, tall ceilings and bay window. In fact we have had Christenings parties, meetings and even indoor sports events in the front room! In terms of history, the house used to be part of a quirky, private boarding school (1908-1940). The style of the house is considered unique in that it has extremely high ceilings, large sash windows and original art décor features (e.g. the lovely oval red stained glass window in the front room and the art decor fire places in the bedrooms). St Nicholas at Wade is a friendly village with two pubs, a church, a post-office and more recently a brewery.
