This charming cottage affords much more than might be envisaged at first glance. It is one of a short terrace of cottages set on rising ground directly overlooking the old harbour at Pentewan and with sea views stretching beyond over Pentewan Sands. Whilst close to the very centre of the village the cottage is tucked away with pedestrian access only and enjoying a relatively undisturbed position. It is equally suitable for holidays or a permanent home.

Pentewan is a small village on the south Cornish coast and originally a fishing community which in the 19th Century was important as a port for the export of china clay. Due to the silting up of the harbour entrance the village settled into a residential community although the long sandy beach has latterly been developed as a popular tourist resort. The village today has a local pub (The Ship Inn), a post office and several shops. At nearby Mevagissey there is a wider range of facilities whilst in St. Austell there are more extensive facilities and the city of Truro with its Cathedral and fine shopping centre is about half an hours driving distance.

The cottage is believed to have originated in 1776 when records suggest the occupant was "Tommy Tricket". It is likely that upper stories were added at a later date. For many years it was used as the local post office and the sliding sash window on the inside of the entrance porch is a reminder of its former use. In recent years the cottage has been considerably improved and updated, there are replacement double glazed casements to the front elevation and the stonework has also been repointed with lime based mortar. Internally the accommodation has tremendous character, there are three bedrooms, a bathroom and separate shower room and on the ground floor a large open-plan living area which focuses to an inglenook fireplace.
