There is a primary school, with schools for older children being close by, the nearest of which has been designated as outstanding by Ofsted. The village hall offers a variety of activities which include archery, bridge, a walking group, WI, plus many activities for the younger members of the village. The village participates in the Open Garden Scheme and has an annual festival which is very popular. Although beautifully tucked away, access to major road networks is within minutes and large urban conurbations such as Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Derby and Nottingham are all within easy reach. Tamworth is very close which has a main line railway, providing journeys into Euston of around one hour.

Favourite room: We were attracted to the village because of its rural location whilst, at that time, we both required access to major road networks and commuting facilities. Our desire was for a modern property but, once we entered into this house, we were immediately enchanted by its unique character, together with its space and layout. We have put our own stamp on the house, but we love everything about living here. It is both welcoming and friendly to all who call and accommodates whatever we ask of it, with a flexible layout which has enabled us to utilise the rooms for a variety of uses.

Favourite aspect of ground or surrounding area: Without doubt, the main reception room is the family favourite. It is spacious, bright and elegant whilst, at same time it becomes a cosy retreat, particularly when the fire is aglow in the impressive inglenook fireplace.

Memorable event or, if thats not possible, then another favorite room: We do feel very much part of the local village community. We also enjoy our pretty garden, and which is designed in a traditional cottage style, with quiet spaces in which to relax.

What theyll miss most/why they are leaving: It will be hard to say goodbye to what has been a tremendous home for us, but it is because we want to be closer to our children and grandchildren that we are moving. However, we are certain that, whoever decides to live here, will appreciate the house, the village and its incredible location.

Location - Austrey is a beautiful village to the North East of Tamworth. Providing excellent access to the A444 and the M42, follow the M42 South and it connects to the M6 and Birmingham. The M42 is around 5 minutes away and the M1 is 15 minutes away.. This is a fantastic central location for anyone who needs to travel the country.
