Bridge Moor is set within a tree lined valley within walking distance of the seaside village of Portreath with its abundance of amenities including it's highly rated primary school only a few minutes drive away, but it is equally well positioned to benefit from the well stocked village of Illogan.
The historic harbour village of Portreath was once a flourishing port serving the copper mines around Chacewater with a tramway built for the transportation of copper ore. Today the village is a popular holiday destination boasting a fine sandy beach renowned for its surfing together with scenic clifftop walks. The old tramway has now become a cycle track connecting to Devoran and this passes through the village and onwards through the intriguing local scenery to Cornwall's south coast. Other local beaches include those at Porthtowan and Chapel Porth whilst slightly further afield is St. Agnes.
The village of Portreath provides a range of local amenities whilst more extensive facilities are available in the towns of Redruth and Camborne and the cathedral city of Truro which now forms the commercial centre of the County.
There is a direct rail link to London Paddington from Redruth, Camborne and Truro whilst to the north lies Newquay Airport which has daily scheduled flights to numerous destinations.
Tehidy Country Park is about a mile from Portreath, situated in a valley of one of the upper tributaries of the Red River which flows into the sea near Gwithian. It is a beautiful country park of around 250 acres. Most of the park is woodland and there are around 9 miles of nature trails. It was formerly the estate of the Bassett family who made a fortune from tin but is now owned by Cornwall County Council and is open to the public all year round. Within the park are also bridleways for horse riding and tracks for mountain bikes. There are several ponds and a lovely lake with swans and various kinds of ducks.
