Full description

Quintessential cottage in the forest. Believed to date back to Saxon times when a Manor House occupied the plot. We are delighted to be able to offer for sale this three/four bedroom country cottage set in approximately four acres of gardens and woodlands.  Approached through Cookworthy Moor Forest on an unmade gravel road and then along a private gravel road, before entering the long unmade driveway to the cottage.  The plot has no near neighbours and enjoys a degree of privacy rarely found in this part of Devon.  Character features include open fireplaces, latch key doors, exposed timbers, some exposed brickwork and flagstone floors.  The accommodation is very flexible and the cottage does have a studio room/bedroom four which is accessible from a small stairway in the sitting room or through the main bedroom.  Externally the cottage has picturesque gardens, part of which include a pond and wild woodland area.  The cottage has several sheds, summer house and other outbuildings, which also includes a tandem double garage.

SITUATION
Found within the heart of Cookworthy Forest, the property is about two miles from the village of Halwill Junction which has a post office, general store, public house, fish and chip shop, hairdressers, gift and flower shop.  The market town of Holsworthy is about nine miles distant with a good range of shopping, leisure and business facilities. The North Cornish Coast is about 30 minutes’ drive and Okehampton is some 20 minutes drive on the A30.  It is about 40 minutes’ drive to the City of Exeter and the M5.
