Full description

GREAT HOUSE, GREAT POSITION, GREAT AREA. So where's the catch? Well we don't believe there is one but go see for yourselves. The Dodney Drive area of Lea has been a firm favourite with couples and families for many years and this house has everything we have come to expect from one in this road with the added benefit of a large dining kitchen, double width driveway and a large grassed area in front to look out on. NO CHAIN

Indoor Space
A covered storm porch shields the front door which leads into the hall where there are stairs to the first floor landing. Off the hall to the left lies the comfortable lounge with a modern fireplace and window overlooking the front garden and communal grassed area which lies across the road from the house. The large dining kitchen at the rear of the property is fitted with an extensive range of modern units but still has ample space for a dining table. The kitchen units have ample worksurfaces with a tiled splashback and inset stainless steel one and a half bowl sink unit with mixer tap. There is an integrated dishwasher and slot in cooker plus room for a tall fridge freezer. Overlooking the rear garden the dining kitchen has double doors leading out to the patio making it perfect for children to come and go safely. Off the kitchen a door leads to the side hall where there is a variety of store cupboards, downstairs wc and a door to the side driveway. Upstairs there are 2...

Outdoor Space
Always an important feature in any family home the gardens and parking don't disappoint here. The front garden is easy to maintain with lawned areas and a variety of shrubs, whilst the rear garden is definitely big enough to cope with the demands of children and is also mainly laid to lawn with a paved patio adjacent to the house. A large timber shed situated in the rear garden provides ample storage and the side driveway is able to fit two cars side by side (or even a caravan).

Around & About
Dodney Drive and the surrounding roads are often overlooked situated as they are quietly off Blackpool Road on the westerly outskirts of Preston. There are local shops dotted along Blackpool Road with larger supermarkets an easy drive away and a primary school within walking distance. The wide roads and grassed verges give this area a calm and peaceful feel with many couples and families choosing to make their home here. For the more energetic the Guild Wheel cycle path runs close by and there are lovely walks through the open countryside or along the side of Savick Brook.

What We Think
This area has always been one of our favourites with its wide grass verges and community feel to it. The closeness of the open countryside is great too but you never feel that far away from the City Centre either. The house itself has been redesigned downstairs to create a large dining kitchen which is so popular with families today and we feel that this is a perfect home for couples with or without children.
