There are local primary schools at Mousehole and St Buryan, while Penzance offers shopping, college, secondary schools and health facilities. St Ives with the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Studios, is twelve miles away. Lands End (8 miles) and St. Michaels Mount (11 miles) are also nearby.

There are numerous local outstanding beaches and wonderful walks along on the Cornish Coastal Footpaths.
