Description

The original farmhouse at Glencarse Farm is thought to date back to around 1870 when it was a simple 'two up, two down'. In more recent years the house has been substantially extended and upgraded to create excellent accommodation for modern day family living.

The original entrance and hallway are on the south east side of the house where there is a gate set into the stone wall which leads up to a timber and slate canopy with door beneath.

The main entrance is however located next to the driveway and opens up into a tiled vestibule with double doors into the hallway. The staircase is centrally located within the hallway which has French oak floorboards. Off the hallway is an under stairs store, coat cupboard and cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin. The cloakroom and cupboard could potentially be converted into a shower room if the necessary consents were obtained.

The sitting room and dining room / bedroom 4 are both off the old hallway and have engineered oak flooring and sash and case windows with working window shutters. The sitting room has an open fireplace with metal surround and slate base while in the dining room there is a wood burning stove.

A small flight of steps leads up to the utility room and kitchen. There is a back door in the utility room which has a range of base and wall units, a stainless steel sink and plumbing for a washing machine.

The kitchen is a fantastic space and has travertine flooring and oak kitchen units with granite worktops. The garden room is a recent addition to the house and has bi-fold doors and full height glass walls, giving spectacular views over the garden. The master bedroom looks over the garden and has its own walk in wardrobe and en suite which is fitted with a shower, wash hand basin and WC. There are two further bedrooms on the south east side of the house which each have a bay window with fantastic countryside views. The larger bedroom has a feature fireplace and a press style cupboard, while the other bedroom has built in wardrobes. Off the landing is a range of storage cupboards and the family bathroom with roll top bath, shower, WC and wash hand basin.

Outside
Glencarse Home Farmhouse has a large, gated gravel driveway which is flanked with colourful planted borders and timber sleepers. The timber sleepers enclose the garden which is slightly raised above the parking area. There are wooden steps by the garden room which lead up to the lawn which has areas of planted borders and paving which lead to the paddock. There is a patio which is lit with white LED floor lights and a timber summer house by the garden room. This provides excellent space for outdoor dining and barbequing. By the back door there is a greenhouse and a path which leads round to a garden shed which has a power supply. The paddock is in the north corner of the plot and is an excellent space for keeping chickens or growing vegetables. There is a large shed with electricity, two smaller sheds and a water supply. To the front of the house is a smaller garden, bounded by a stone wall. There are steps up to the front door and two gates which give access around both sides of the house.
