When we bought our home 4 years ago, I wanted a house that was big enough for my teenage daughters and was in the catchment area of good schools. Having the study room has been ideal for my daughters for all their homework and given they have both done well at school, they are now off to University which is why I no longer need all the space. With the summer house in the garden, it has provided a retreat for the girls to socialise with their friends and it just gives them that bit of independence. Having the open plan living space has worked really well with our family and it is ideal for when we have big get togethers. The kitchen/ diner is the real hub of the house and we will often spend time together here.
