GENERAL REMARKS

SITUATION: The property is situated to the south of Sherburn in Elmet and around the hamlet of Lumby centred on LS25 5JX. It is in an area characterised by highly productive land, typically of Grade 2 soils given over to quality arable and root production in an acknowledged farming district. There are a number of Anaerobic Digestion plants now running in the district, potentially, giving additional production opportunities.

DESCRIPTION: Various parcels of land as lotted but all characteristic of the limestone ridge identified as Grade 2 on the MAFF land classification. The land is identified as Aberford Soil series of Eocene limestone geological origins, well suited to the cropping history and which has included peas and roots in rotation.
