Description

The Homestead is a lovely Grade II Listed cottage in a pretty hamlet setting with a private lane approach and rendered elevations set beneath a Devon Thatch and slate roof. The property has been extensively and sympathetically refurbished by the current owners to include the addition of a superb hardwood conservatory, along with the construction of a large garage/workshop. Rich in character throughout the cottage has plank and muntin screens in the sitting room and dining rooms, feature inglenook-style fireplaces and various exposed timberwork, trusses and beams. The focal point for day-to-day life is the superb kitchen/breakfast room with bespoke units and a large recessed inglenook with period bread oven, as well as a useful walk-in pantry. The kitchen opens to the hardwood conservatory; a superb additional space overlooking the pretty cottage-style gardens and also opening to the period-style bathroom/laundry room with roll-top bath and attractive suite. To the first floor there are well-proportioned bedrooms with some exposed timberwork, along with a modern shower room. Externally there are relatively level, cottage style gardens front and rear, with the main expanse of garden enjoying views over the nearby meadows. There is parking for several vehicles in front of the expansive double garage/workshop.
