The River Exe
The River Exe is known as one of the West Country's finest salmon rivers. The Exe rises on Exmoor and flows through open moorland and steep wooded valleys, before flowing through open farmland where the river begins to slow providing some deeper holding pools.

The Exe has a good run of salmon and can produce big catches when the grilse arrive in summer.

The Poet Laureate, Alfred Lord Tennyson, stayed in Exebridge in June 1981, where he referred to the Exe Valley as 'a land of bubbling streams'. Until the 1950s a tree stump below Perry Weir was known as Tennyson's Oak. Local legend has it that it was while sitting under this oak that the poet began his famous poem "The Brook".

The Fishing Rights
These comprise an attractive and varied beat of approximately 1,000 metres (1,094 yards) of single bank fishing. The extent of the fishing rights are shown shaded pink on the plan.
The fishing rights benefit from a pedestrian right of access through a field gate marked on the plan at point 'A'. Parking is also available for two vehicles at point 'A' on the plan.

The Fishing Hut
The fishing hut is of timber construction overlooking Old Womans Pool. The hut is sited on private land and subject to an agreement with the landowner.

Quarry Species
The beat is principally a salmon fishery with the occasional sea trout.

Catch Records
The sellers have provided an average annual catch record taken over the last 10 years of 18.

The fishing rights are located in an attractive and accessible area of Somerset, within the small, rural village of Exebridge. Exebridge is 12 miles north of the market town of Tiverton, which provides a full range of local services including shops, public houses and hotels.
