A Stunning Mews House In The Heart Of Dalston.
Set within a beautifully maintained gated warehouse development in the heart of Dalston. The property benefits from its own allocated parking space right outside the front door, plenty of visitor parking bays and use of an on-site caretaker/concierge. It has three nursery schools too. It is surprisingly quiet and peaceful being in the heart of Dalston.

Living Here... - Independent Place is ideally located in Dalston just where Kingsland Road meets Stoke Newington road: with Haggerston, De Beauvoir town, Newington Green, Stoke Newington all within easy walking distance. This recent article about Shacklewell Lane in Time Out (the street on which the entrance to Independent Place is) says it all its an amazing area:
http://www.timeout.com/london/blog/12-reasons-to-go-to-shacklewell-lane-in-hackney-e8-080516.

Independent Place is strangely quiet and peaceful despite being so near the hub of Kingsland Road. But step out of the door and you have the cafes, pubs and restaurants of Shacklewell Lane right on your doorstep. These are all listed in the Time Out Article, but highlights include the Shacklewell Arms pub and gig venue, Floyds restaurant, and the incredible French wine shop; as well as next door neighbours Mouse and de Lotz, the friendly and famous local cafe and Yoga on the Lane, a really special yoga studio (with some of the best teachers from all over London), which are run by best friends.
Two minutes away on Kingsland road you have everything from Ridley Road market to organic health food shops. One of the best Turkish restaurants in London (frequented regularly by artists Gilbert and George), Voodoo Rays famous pizza slice bar, and the independent Rio Cinema nestle alongside the huge number of cafes, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, clothes and vintage shops that line Kingsland road. Walk south and you have the exceptional Italian restaurant Rotorino, walk north and you have Suttons and Sons hand made fish and chips and fishmongers.

Or stroll just five minutes down Shacklewell Lane past Fingers Crossed cafe and restaurant and The Hand of Glory pub to Hackney Downs which is a lovely park with a large playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, and wild meadows in summer. A little bit of a longer walk gets you to London Fields and the outdoor Lido or along the canal, past the towpath cafes and restaurants to Broadway market.

Head on bus, overground or foot to Haggerston, Shoreditch and Liverpool Street and city. Nip on Dalston Kingsland overground to Highbury and Islington and the Victoria line, its 15 mins to Kings Cross and its 25 minutes to central London/Oxford Street door to door. While Dalston Junction also takes you south and to the Jubilee Line. There is also easy access to City airport and Stansted via Stratford/ the M11.

What We Feel... - We really love this house and the area and cant quite bear to leave. Shacklewell Lane is an amazing little community right next to the thriving day and nightlife of Kingsland road, and our house is a genuine oasis: so quiet, light, peaceful and calm. We have spent a lot of time and love renovating the property replacing the original windows, putting in oak floors and maintaining its character and charm, while updating its bathrooms and kitchen. When so many flats around here are small new-builds, its amazing to have a whole, high-ceilinged house to yourself and your own front door especially since everything you need is on your doorstep. You are spoiled for choice when it comes to eating and going out, strolling through greenery or shops, and transport links across London. (Its also so unusual for this area to have a parking space, and means we can easily drive to Islington, Clapton, Victoria Park, Clissold Park and Highbury in ten minutes). We have loved every minute we have lived here, and been happy in both in our twenties and our thirties: from clubbing on the strip and hungover brunches to watching matinees at the Rio and doing yoga. But whoever you are and whatever you like to do, Dalston has something for you.
