Situated within a Conservation Area and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Wittersham Court was originally known as The Manor of Wittersham. In 1032 it is understood to have been given by King Canute to Christ Church of Canterbury as 'fosterland' for the monks. It was then assigned by Licence of King Henry IV to the Masters and Fellows of All Saints College, Maidstone. In 1546 during the reign of Edward VI, Wittersham College, as it was then known was leased to Sir Thomas Wyatt at a yearly rent of £14. This handsome and historic village house has remained in private ownership ever since.

Wittersham Court is an exceptional village house, designated a Grade II Listing as a property of Special Architectural or Historic Interest and situated amidst beautiful part-walled gardens approaching 1 acre. Internally, the generously proportioned and well presented accommodation is arranged over three floors together with a useful two room cellar.
Points of note include;
• An abundance of exposed timbers and beams, high ceilings to the majority of rooms, sash and casement windows, some working window shutters, open fireplaces to three of the four reception rooms, slate flooring to the kitchen/breakfast room.

Integrated Miele appliances include an electric oven, microwave, electric 2 ring hob and dishwasher. There is a filtered water tap and water softener.
• Adjoining the kitchen is a study, off which lies a utility room with a larder providing further storage and a versatile garden room with sliding doors to the south-facing courtyard.
• An oak staircase leads to the first floor where the lovely master bedroom suite benefits from a dressing room with a range of built-in cupboards and an en suite bathroom.
• Three bedrooms, which are served by two bathrooms and an en suite WC, are situated over the remainder of the first floor.
• The second floor spans the length of the house and is a highly adaptable area with two further bedrooms, bathroom, playroom and two store rooms. GARDENS AND OUTBUILDINGS
