Our client is the the second owner from new and has beautifully maintained the property over years of their ownership. The beautiful partly walled landscaped rear garden enjoys a delightful westerly aspect.
The grounds of Moor Park Gardens were once part of the gardens of Coombe Warren originally built in 1860 which was rebuilt in 1870 as a result of a fire for Bertram Wodehouse Currie (a successful international financier and banker) who used to entertain William Gladstone during his four terms as Prime Minister who left a legacy behind him. It was the tranquility of this wonderful estate previously once the hunting, shooting and farming grounds of the father of George Duke of Cambridge that led to his success. When the Duke inherited the land, he started to carve up what was the Coombe Estate in to smaller parcels of land which also extended to as far as Wimbledon Common. It was then the rich and noble took up leases on this wonderful hill top of Surrey for their country estates. When Coombe Warren was demolished smaller parcels were sold off and Coombe Moor was built in early 1930s. Around 1991, a substantial part of the grounds of Coombe Moor were sold off for development and thus Moor Park Gardens were created.
