Overview - You can have your pick of apartments in Llandrindod Wells but will you be able to find another just like this?! We are not so sure! This absolutely delightful apartment is part of the building named Mangalore that stands prominently on Spa Road. Built between the years of 1914 - 1916 the building itself is Grade II listed and maintains many of the beautiful original features such as the stunning herringbone parquet flooring and the Dutch Delft tiled surround to the cast iron fireplace. Offering one bedroom accommodation the apartment is ideal for an individual or would be a perfect investment opportunity for a holiday LET.

The apartment is vacant and therefore available is no upward chain, so could be completed in a short time frame!

The Property - Built by Mr Maxwell Smith of Cambridge, the planning for the building was turned 90 degrees to avoid the original main reception room facing to recently completed Ye Wells Hotel. The dark brick of this three storey building contracts with the extensively used Ruabon brick in the towns other buildings and really adds to the appeal of the building as you approach.

As you enter the apartment you immediately step into the entrance hall, ideal for hanging your coats and kicking off the dirty shoes, which I am sure you would want to do in order to maintain the beautiful flooring! The main appeal to the dwelling is the main reception room/kitchen area. With that stunning herringbone parquet flooring and two storey bay window to the front, the light floods in and gives a light aspect but yet with he amount of exposed beams on show, the mix of both character and light complement each other extremely well! The windows themselves are the original wood fitted windows with the leaded inserts and iron fixtures really adding to the theme that the property boasts. The kitchen offers the modern appliances you expect to find but is complimented by the original Arts and Crafts open fireplace which is decorated with the original hand painted Ducth Delft tiles. Again a quirky feature is the original dumb waiter, now redundant but provides a useful storage space. The fireplace is not currently in use and needs to be re-lined but we have been informed that the neighbours who share the chimney would like to once again make this usable.

From the ground floor a spiral staircase leads to the first floor, here you will find a mezzanine double bedroom area which again benefits from the large bay window to the front and a walk in wardrobe area. Off the bedroom is a shower room, with a white suite, which is in good order and well presented.

A truly beautiful ground floor apartment, with a lovely, welcoming warm feel!

Outside - Externally the property has a flat lawned garden to the front, which has mature plants and shrubs with a path leading to the front door. The garden is accessed off a communal side path which flanks the property and also in turn leads to a large tarmac area at the rear which the residents have used to park their cars over the years! The residents have an informal understanding that this is their parking area and enjoy the use of it.

The Location - Llandrindod Wells or more locally known as Llandod is the county town of the largest county in Wales, Powys.
