The nearby town of Okehampton, on the northern edge of Dartmoor National Park, possesses a full selection of local amenities, including Waitrose store, leisure centre, hospital,
secondary education, shops, pubs and restaurants. Private education in the area is available at Mount Kelly at Tavistock, or a selection in the university and cathedral city of Exeter. Within very easy reach, to the south, is Dartmoor, renowned for its
spectacular scenery and providing many and varied opportunities locally for walking, riding and fishing and there is also easy access to the west and north west to the North Devon and Cornwall coast, with its sandy surf beaches and beautiful coastal walks.
Communication - There is quick access, to the south, at Whiddon Down, Okehampton or Sourton, onto the A30 dual carriageway, leading west into Cornwall, or east to Exeter, where there is access onto the M5 motorway, railway stations with mainline connections to London and an international airport. The Property - - Spacious and well presented Devon farmhouse of considerable character and charm.
- Listed as being of architectural or historical interest Grade II and stated as being 17th century, considerably remodelled and extended in later 19th century and possible that the later alterations were by George Devey, who designed the nearby Broomford Manor. This is a distinctive looking house in a very prominent position, notable for a fairly high quality 19th
century remodelling, which may be attributable to a major Victorian architect.
- Spacious and well proportioned family accommodation with many period features.
- Courtyard with range of traditional stone barns and outbuildings.
- Large, mature gardens with views over the River Okement valley.
- Pasture paddocks adjoining the gardens.
- Attractive, edge of village location and with very easy access to Okehampton, A30, Dartmoor, etc.
