In an extremely private and peaceful setting yet just over a mile from the A38 Haven Cottage is a delightful four bedroom family house parts of which date back to the early 1700s. The house is a fine combination of contemporary and traditional with its large kitchen family room serving as a central living space and with a lovely bright sun room, a boot room and a larder leading off. Through the central hallway the spacious yet cosy sitting room has exposed beams, a wood burner and windows on three sides letting in plenty of natural light. In addition to the main hall there is also a drying room and a cloakroom/shower room. Upstairs there is a master bedroom suite with ensuite bathroom and dressing room as well as 3 further double bedrooms and a family bathroom with a variety of options for use. From the landing a door leads out to the splendid rear garden of just over an acre where there are several outbuildings including a workshop, a sail loft and two substantial log stores.

At the front of the house the gravelled drive provides parking for a number of cars in addition to the large double garage which could provide the basis of an annexe should this be required. Beyond the gravel the mature front garden contains stew ponds which date back to medieval times. Behind the house the lawns sweep up to a lovely walk under trees with glimpses over the surrounding countryside.

Haven Cottage is close to Ugborough which is a charming old South Hams village set in beautiful countryside, mentioned in the Domesday Book, with a long history dating back to Saxon times. Today there is a primary school, a public house/restaurant and the 12th century church flanks one end of the large village square. The village of South Brent is 3 miles away and enjoys a wide range of shops, including a supermarket, butchers, pharmacy, delicatessen, electrical shop, DIY store/builders merchant and fish and chip shop. The professional services include a bank, post office, health centre and dental surgery. For more comprehensive shopping, there is Ivybridge to the west, Modbury to the south, and Plymouth is within easy commuting distance via the A379 or A38.
