The current owners have lived in this house for eleven years, and have enjoyed raising their family here. From the adventure playground to the annual apple harvest from the orchard, the completely secluded and well-established gardens really are a fabulous feature - and keep children entertained for hours (and their parents, who can relax on the beautiful decked entertaining area with friends, a barbecue and some wine!). Inside, the property is no less impressive, boasting five reception rooms including a fantastic home office, a playroom, a cosy lounge, a pretty den and a gorgeous dining room which leads off from the sleek, well-equipped kitchen. There's also a fancy downstairs cloakroom, a useful boot room and a utility with built-in laundry appliances. Upstairs, there are four pretty double bedrooms, two of which have en-suite bathrooms, and a further family bathroom, all arranged off the light and airy landing where the sun can flood in through the roof lantern. There is a useful loft space and several eaves storage areas, and a large outbuilding in the grounds - this could be put to a variety of uses. An in-and-out gravel driveway allows off-road parking for up to six cars.
Curdridge is a pretty and extremely popular rural location, with Chapel Lane being regarded as one of the most prestigious addresses in the village. The village primary school is within an easy ten-minute walk, and the local pub, The Cricketers, provides a welcome place to curl up by the log fire in winter, or enjoy a long lazy al fresco lunch in the gardens in summer. Southampton airport is only about fifteen minutes' drive away, and Botley station (20 minutes' walk from the property) can have you in London Waterloo in an hour and a half's direct train ride. Curdridge lies conveniently central to Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester for shopping, recreation and culture, and you can be by the seaside in no time at all. It really does enjoy the best of both worlds - a safe, rural and friendly village within very easy reach of the bright lights and action of some of the South's best cities.
The owners are leaving due to work commitments taking them further North. "We remember the day we first came to see Hillview, as prospective buyers," they said, "and we just fell in love with it straight away. It's changed a lot since we bought it, because of all the improvements that we've made, but watching the wild rabbits (and the occasional deer) playing in the garden remains just as magical now as it was all that time ago. We are sure that the next people to live here will love it just as much as we have, and will make many happy memories here."
