Oxford House is in the centre of the village and is believed to have been built between 1750 and 1780 by the Hippisley family of Ston Easton. Later it was the local doctor's house for a number of generations. Listed items of note include the sash windows, fan light and in the study the Georgian fittings comprising the chair rail, wall panels, acanthus frieze cornice, shutters, chimney-piece with swags and lotus capitals and on either side a buffet niche with original shelving. There are fine examples of Art Nouveau fireplaces in bedrooms and polished floorboards.

Outside 
The house faces south across its grounds. There is a large terrace with a balustrade on the southern side approached by several French doors from the main living areas of the house. Beyond are the gardens which are mainly laid to lawn with mature trees and shrubs together with a pond and fruit & vegetable areas. Total approaching two acres.
