The Story

What immediately strikes visitors to the house on Bridle Road is the exceptional modern décor. It is a house that oozes with a style and confidence.
"It has had a total makeover and we are very proud of it," says one of the owners. Their eye for detail has made the house into a superb example of contemporary family living.
"Whether it is hosting all the extended family or having a spontaneous party with our friends, this has been the perfect house for so many different occasions."
The location has also been ideal, with shops, boutiques and restaurants all close by.
"It is marvellous being so close to the National Trust's Cliveden Estate. You can go for all sorts of walks and bike rides, its great with the children too - fantastic maze and activities for them. Marlow is lovely as well," she says.

OPEN PLAN LIVING
Visitors are always impressed as they emerge from the entrance hall into the main living area. Added by the owners, a rear extension combines the drawing room and dining room to create a wonderful open-plan space. "The sliding doors open on to the garden, which is great for summer parties. The whole room is south-facing so the light just pours in." As well as underfloor heating and front-facing bay windows, a vibrant feature wall keeps the room bright and welcoming even in darkest winter.
"We have had a lot of Christmases here, usually with around 12 people so having this much space is ideal. You can have dinner, presents and everything in one place."

MODERN KITCHEN
Beyond the open-plan space is the stylish, modern kitchen. Here high end fittings and work surfaces look sleek under the built-in spotlights, only adding to the contemporary glamour the owners have brought. Another welcome feature is the underfloor heating. "We will often eat in here because it is more relaxed and informal. It is great that we have a table in here but there is still so much space." she says. The open-plan design means that the kitchen links all of the ground floor spaces. This is ideal for families. "When our nieces and nephews come over they always end up running laps around us! It's good fun but it also means we can keep an eye on them."

BEAUTIFUL BEDROOMS
Two first floor suites and two double bedrooms and a single mean that the Bridle Road house can suit almost any needs. The master bedroom is another example of the owners' commendable ability to create a truly stylish room that also maintains warmth.
"We love the wallpaper on the feature wall, it brings so much to the room. Our favourite part has to be the double size waterfall shower in my bathroom though, it's fabulous," she says.
Although each bedroom is as inviting as the last, there is one that particularly stands out for the owners.
"The double at the back is a really nice quirky shape. Anybody with children who comes to stay will always ask for that one!"

CAREFUL THOUGHT
A lot of careful thought has gone into the interior design of the property on Bridle Road. It is a surprisingly flexible house with plenty of useful practical touches. One example of this would be the snug on the ground floor. "It is a really nice space and it is away from the main areas so when my daughter and her friends are hanging out in there I don't have to hear their music! If you wanted to have it as a study it would be an easy switch and it keeps your work away from the rest of the house."
More useful features include existing plumbing and space for a built in coffee maker and a garage with plumbing and electricity.

OUTSIDE LIVING
Another area that truly bears the fruit of the owners' labour is the garden. A large luscious green lawn is enclosed by charming mature hedges, ensuring the garden is secluded. "We transformed the space with a lot of hard work. We made a little enclave where I sit in my hammock. There are bramley apple trees, a vegetable patch and strawberry patch." She goes on to say that there are wonderful views of Cliveden from the first floor, something which is particularly useful on bonfire night.
"The garden is a great entertaining space particularly because of the decking. It is really nicely lit at night so it is perfect for when friends spontaneously pop round."

Setting the Scene

To the front of the house on Bridle Road is an enclosed front driveway and parking area. There is also an integral single garage.
The rear garden is laid to lawn and enclosed by mature hedging. There is a large sun deck, vegetable patch and timber shed.
