The Story

AN AIRY STYLE
Moving from a small flat, the couple found the four-bedroom house exceptionally spacious.
It has a light entrance hall, leading on to the spacious drawing room, which has French windows on to the rear garden. The second reception room is currently a dining room but could make a great a family room, play room or study.
Also downstairs is the stunning kitchen, while upstairs there are four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
“It was a lovely moving into somewhere that was brand new – and to be honest it still has that fresh new feel throughout,” she says. “We have kept it very neutral to enhance its bright, airy style, just bringing in our own furniture and furnishings.”

BEAUTIFUL KITCHEN
The heart of the house is the outstanding kitchen breakfast room, which has space for a six-seat table. Here there are French windows out on to the garden and high specification fittings, with integrated appliances.
“The kitchen is a lovely large room, which is wonderful for entertaining,” she says. “I love being able to chat to people as I prepare the meal. It is also nice, however, to have a separate dining room to go into to eat together in afterwards.”

OUTSIDE LIVING
With French windows from both the drawing room and the kitchen breakfast room, the property offers excellent inside-outside living.
“In the summer we like to keep these doors open so we can wander in and out. We have a small bistro table outside, where we can sit to have our coffee.”
The low maintenance garden could be further landscaped by new owners, she points out. It is currently laid to lawn, with a terrace, but there is scope for adding flower beds, shrubs and other outdoor features.
“If someone did not want to have such a large drive they could easily take part of it into the garden, which would make it even bigger,” Chris says.

FAMILY HOME
The first floor of the house features three large double bedrooms, including the master bedroom and its bathroom. There is also a family bathroom. Both bathrooms have sleek modern fittings.
“The master bedroom’s en suite bathroom is very nice as it has a walk-in, double shower,” she points out.
The fourth bedroom is smaller than the other two but could make a great child’s room or study.
“This is an ideal home for a family,” Chris says. “There is so much space inside and the garden is very child-friendly. We also have good schools less than five minutes away from the house.”

BEST OF ALL WORLDS
Indeed, proximity to local amenities has been a great advantage to life at Abacus Drive, she observes.
“The supermarket is also just a few minutes from here and we have a nice local pub; this area has a village-like feel and yet we can get into Milton Keynes easily or out into the countryside.”
Life at Oak Grove offers the best of all worlds, she says.
“You have all convenience of being in the city – you don’t have to get into the car if you don’t want to – yet within five minutes you can be at the River Ouzel or at Woughton on the Green,” she says. “We have really enjoyed living here and will also be sorry to leave our home. It was incredible to move into somewhere so immaculate and new, where everything was of such good quality, and we have kept it all looking good so the next people will feel the same.”

Setting The Scene

The house on Abacus Drive is set back, with a very generous private driveway, with comfortable parking for up to five vehicles.
The corner plot position of the house also means there is a very large back garden. This is currently enclosed, with a lawn and terrace area to enjoy. There is, however, huge scope for landscaping and for even enlarging the garden.
