Why you’ll like it:
Like many period houses on the edge of the Willett Estate, this villa has some Tudor detailing on the gable, and ornate brickwork alongside hung tiles. It is set back from the road so a long stone path leads you through the grand front door and into the communal hallway where your door is on the right. Once inside, a long hallway stretches ahead and the depth of the apartment becomes clear. The first generous room however is the main bedroom which faces the front of the property and is peacefully tucked away from the main living area.
The far wall has a deep bay window which floods the room with light, and the latte carpets and dove grey walls lift the space further. The woodwork is picked out in white, which complements the decorative fire surround, and while this is closed at present, it adds interest to the room whilst providing a useful mantle.
Further along the hall, the next door opens to the living room which is central to the flat, and leads through to the bright and airy kitchen and breakfast room. The floors are stripped and varnished in honeyed tones, and an arched alcove provides the perfect space for a dresser, the TV or even a dining table. A stairway from the hallway leads down to the basement where there are three separate storage rooms including a utility area with space and plumbing for a washing machine as well as a tumble dryer. It would take planning to turn this into a livable area as it lacks enough natural light, but it could be a wine cellar perhaps or just excellent as storage; a luxury many apartments lack.
Returning upstairs, the bathroom and bedroom two are at the rear of the property, with the bathroom being another modern space with a sleek white suite, pale stone tiling, and a monsoon shower over the bath. The bedroom is a smaller double, but it would be fine for sharers, and this has the same soothing decor as bedroom one.
The favourable location, so close to the beach, the park and shops of Church Road, plus the proximity of Hove Station, mean this flat is sure to attract many.
