Directions 
From the centre of Barnard Castle proceed down The Bank and over County Bridge bearing round to the right. Proceed through the villages of Lartington and Cotherstone and just before Romaldkirk turn to the left sign posted Hunderthwaite.

Upon reaching the village of Hunderthwaite follow the road through the village and further for another two miles where you will see Hury reservoir on your left hand side and a turning to your right (identified by a George F White for sale board) which has a signpost stating ‘no access to motor vehicles’, turn right onto the adopted road and travel for another mile, you will pass a farm on your right and the road starts to bear to the left up a gradual hill, upon reaching the brow of the hill you will see Botany Farmhouse in front of you.
