The house is approached from a narrow public road, through a pair of iron drive gates on granite pillars and a tarmac drive between clipped beech hedges to a parking and turning area outside the house. History It is understood that, after the Norman Conquest, the land surrounding Morvah was given to William the Conqueror's half brother, the Count of Mortain. In 1920, Morvah was owned by the Lord of Tredinnick and in the 17th century by Sir Walter Moyle. It is not known when exactly the house was built, but it has evolved over the years into a substantial house with Georgian undertones and solid stone walls under a slate roof.

Location The nearby village of Landrake is about a mile away and offers everyday facilities, including a Post Office/general store, church, inn and primary school. The nearby hamlet of Tideford has an excellent inn, the Rod & Line, with an extensive seafood menu, local ales and occasional live music evenings, the Heskyn Mill restaurant and a butcher's shop. There are schools at the nearby village of Landrake and St Germans. The historic naval city of Plymouth, about 9 miles away, offers extensive recreational, cultural and educational facilities, including the Maritime Museum. Plymouth also has a popular marina.The Tamar Bridge at Plymouth offers a road link into Cornwall.

Directions From Plymouth on the A38 go over the Tamar Bridge and under the tunnel up to Carkeel roundabout on the A38. Cross straight over aand continue along the A38 passing through the village of Landrake. After leaving the village you will start going down a gentle hill to the valley bottom where you will then start to rise up the other side. Upon levelling out and gently bearing left there will be a telephone exchange on your right. Within a few hundred yards as you come to the brow of the hill leading down towards Tideford turn left onto the Parish road which within a few hundred yards the entrance driveway to Morvah is found on your right hand side.
