Green Energy
How it works....

The Haydon
Green energy should be more common. However, many Developers still do not apply the appropriate form of renewable energy to each house. The skill is to combine the correct technology with the right house design to maximise results. i.e.

Saving money for you.
Reducing the impact on the planet.

The Air Source unit works like a fridge in reverse. It extracts heat from the outside air and uses it to heat water to around 50 degrees. This water is then stored as tap water and pumped through the floor to create a natural rising heat that warms the whole building. Radiators have also been installed on the upper floors.

High levels of insulation and A rated windows & doors, drastically reduce heat loss. As the heat is contained for longer, the heating does not need to run for as long or at such a high temperature as a conventional combi boiler, thus reducing energy costs. Also 200mm of insulation has been laid under the underfloor heating, ensuring that the heat is reflected up in to the building and not lost in the ground.

The water tank has a built in immersion water heater to rapidly heat water should it be necessary at busy times.

Photo-voltaic solar panels have been installed on the roof to offset the small amount of electricity used by the Air Source unit and domestically within the house. The Solar panels may also provide you with an income for 20 years via the governments Feed in Tariff scheme. In addition to this we have installed a
Solar i switch (Solic switch) which automatically turns the immersion water heater on when the electricity produced by the Solar panels is not being used domestically, proving you with FREE hot water.
