At ground floor level there is a circa 19th century wooden, glazed shop front and a recessed glazed pedestrian entrance door. The upper parts of the front elevation are of brick with end quoins and incorporate four timber frame sash windows to the first and second floors. The building has a pitched roof, under 'Kent Peg' tiles behind a parapet wall to the front and incorporating a hipped dormer window.

Internally, the accommodation is arranged with a sales area on the ground floor, together with a small storeroom and an enclosed staircase leading to the upper floors. The basement provides storage accommodation and good working height. The first floor comprises two rooms and is used as a staff room and storage. The second floor provides additional storage space, two cloakrooms and a kitchen. On the third floor are an office to the rear and another storage area to the front.

The ground and upper floors are of suspended timber construction, covered with tiles to the ground floor sales area and a combination of a number of floor finishes and carpet to the rooms in the upper floors, except in the kitchen and cloakroom, which have vinyl finishes. The internal walls are generally of painted lathe and plaster, although the ground floor walls to the sales area have a combination of tenant's shop fittings, wall tiles and rough painted plaster. The ceilings throughout the building are generally finished with emulsion to plaster, although there is a partially suspended ceiling to the front of the ground floor shop with inset spot lighting.

Externally, the property fronts the pedestrianised section of St Margaret's Street. To the rear is an access yard bounded by the adjoining buildings and only providing pedestrian access, leading to the entrance of Nasons near the Canterbury Tales.
